Big news!!

Well, yesterday I finally got to my appointment with the female doctor. It went well, I had my first ever pap smear, I have no idea what I was worried about, it didn't hurt at all! It wasn't even uncomfortable.

While there I got some amazing news,

I'm pregnant!!

We're due on the 22nd of February! I still can't believe it! I'm so happy. We were trying, but didn't think it would happen so soon! I am very grateful at how quickly we fell. TBH I feel a little bit guilty when I think of all the couples that are having trouble falling pregnant. I couldn't imagine how hard it must be for them :-(

Update on fluffy mail

Well it's been a long time since I last updated. A lot has happened too!

We've had tonnes of fluffy mail. No pics unfortunately, the camera's dying.

My Honeyboy has arrived! It's even more beautiful than I had imagined! It's yellow with a gumball machine appliqued on the bum. I adore it! It's so soft and works so well!

Other fluffy mail (or WAHM mail I've received)

~ 2 itti bittis, one bubblegum one rose
~ 1 second hand Honeyboy in lilac
~ 2 window decorations and frangipani's handpainted on a purple singlet. All from 3cheekyboys. I love her work and can't wait to buy more!
~ 1 Night nappy, no idea of the name. 1 Bubblebubs, animal print, love it. 1 Twins in cloth fitted. 2 large berry plush inserts

I don't remember anymore LOL I get too much!

My absolute favourite arrived today.
I had bought some wool from Sussannah, Geisha I think it was. A wonderful woman (Vanessa) chrocheted it up for me. It has turned out nicer than I could ever have imagined! I will try my hardest to get a photo because the colours have come together just beautifully! There was some leftover wool so she made up a little headband. It fits Alexi perfectly and it's so cute!

I've been meaning to post this for ages now.
The shirt is hand dyed by my Aunt. The embroidery is done by a gorgeous woman called Pam. ((HUG))
I found this cute little knitted singlet at the op shop. I'm not sure wether to dye it, or keep it this way.

Fluffy Mail

These are my gorgeous capris from Dyelicious Knits & Bits. When they arrived I thought they were going to be to small, but no, they're a perfect fit!! :-D

I was lucky enough to win these gorgeous longies on eBay. They are made by the lovely Vanessa. She does a great job! So good that I've asked her to make me a custom pair, and she said yes! :-D

Vanessa was kind enough to add these flower embellishments for free! Aren't they just beautiful?!

The best kind of fluff is free fluff! I received these from Melissa in a swap. I have been inlove with this print for quite some time. Now it's mine! LOL

LOL I really should start taking photos of Lex in a clean shirt ROFL. Have you noticed that the freezer is our main pic spot? Haha.

Reconstructed T-shirt

These are the pants I made for the Reconstructed T-shirt thread on Nappycino

Girly Bits bamboo velour Mermaid

I can't belive I didn't post this as soon as I got it. But I've been slack. Here it is though. My absolute favourite pad. I got it by chance, browsing on Ozebaby and there it was :-D

It is the most comfortable pad I have ever worn. Karen (Girly Bits) has done a great job on these.

Time for an update!

It's been way too long since I've updated. I've got a lot going on at the moment.
I'm currently going for two jobs. One's part time at the local IGA and the other is cleaning houses a couple of days a week. My lovely MIL is going to look after Alexi (we live with my in-laws), so I'm going to take advantage of the free childcare while I can!

I'm slowly getting better at this sewing gig. I've had to learn how to hand sew because our machine is buggering up. The bobbin keeps bunching up. I've cleaned it all out, so I'm not quite sure what to do from here.

I've just been buying up a storm! I have some gorgeous cotton coming my way. Or I will have once I've paid for it LOL. Here's some pics of some lovely fabrics that turned up last week.

Fleece

Flannel:

I love the zebra fleece so much! So far I have made flongies, shorties and a skirt out of it. I plan on making a few cushions out of it, as well as sew a piece onto Lexi's black t-shirt. Zebra trim on jeans...... Oh, so many ideas!!

(mind the grubby shirt LOL)

I will add pics of the skirt and flongies tomorrow. :-)

While waiting for my huggaluggs from Eco Bambino, I decided to make my own. Not really creative, just cut the toes out of some knee high sock I found at the local op shop. I'm yet to sew the top, so they're curling :-S
Again, mind the grubby shirt ROFL

I want to add pics of a project I have just finished, but as it's a present for a friend's nearly 1 year old, I won't put it up until she has recieved it. :-D

This is my favourite picture of Alexi.

Latest flongies

Sorry about the photo, my camera is being a PITA.

These are our latest flongies. I'm having a ball making them! Especially with the cute new fleece I have on it's way....

Stylish Babes

My dear friend Dani has opened a shop on Buy For Baby called Stylish Babes. Being the sweetheart that she is, she sent us one to try and I have to say, I'm in love! It's such a great fit, works well and it's so soft! Not to mention the print, how pretty is that!

It's a fleece pocket with a hidden layer of PUL.

From this angle it looks huge, LOL but it's not really.

Mermaid fluffy mail!!

How stunning is this pad! It's made by the lovely Karen at Girly Bits. I still can't believe I managed to nab one LOL
It has bamboo velour on the other side and it is oh so soft!! I'm wearing it now, three cheers for comfort! *yay*

Scrummy new fluffy mail!

The blue one is a hand dyed bamboo Raphael from Cherub's Kiss. It was my GDUNH prize *yay*! The pink is a Cuddlebuns from Cute Tooshies. It is soooo soft!!

*yay* new stuff!

I've gotten some yummy fluffy mail in the last few days. *yay*

Not long after I bought this paint splotch bib, a matching nappy was listed! So of course I nabbed that without a moment's thought. I had actually been waiting for it LOL

I love them! I think they're just gorgeous! Can't wait to try them out :-D

My new cotton from Kaz (Girly Bits). Not too sure what I'm going to do with them yet LOL, feel free to throw some ideas at me! They're 50cm X 50 cm :-D

My new fleece! I actually found some in this teeny tiny town LOL. there's also a purple monkey one I've been humming and harring about.

I'm going to have a go at making flongies. I think they're a fantastic idea! With any luck this girl of mine goes to sleep so I can get started today!

Happy birthday munchkin!

I can't believe my baby is one!

We had a wonderful day. First we got up and had breaky. Yummy avocado on toast! Then Lexi got to run around in her birthday suit for an hour ;-)

Then Daddy took us down to the lagoon. She played with the duckies, saw her first ever turtle and walked along the bridge.

All dressed and ready for the party!

Watching Grandad open her present.

We went home and Lex had a big nap, which was enough time for us to cook everything for the party! LOL

We all met up down at the lagoon again. My SIL and I put up all the streamers and balloons. Alexi had a good time 'helping' LOL
She had so much fun opening up her pressies! With help from Mum of course LOL.
She got her first dolly! *yay*, it's so cute! Best bit is, it's wearing a MCN! pmsl!!

Showing off her pretty jewellery.

Home-made wetbag

I'm getting better at this sewing thingo LOL

Here's my first attempt at a drawstring wetbag. It has a layer of PUL underneath, and a layer of printed cotton on top :-D

Fluffy Mail for me!

My latest arrivals.

Obsidian Star pads:

Nice Knickers:

My stash consists of the above, 4 Jade lady velours, and a home made one.

I made it from the pattern on Jan Andrea at home. I'll add the link in later.

The tabs are a bit out of whack LOL.

First attempt - pocket nappy

Ok, I nearly didn't put this in here (still don't want to :P), but I may as well.

I finally got around to making a pocket nappy for Lex. This is my first one, so don't laugh too hard ;-)

I put the snaps on back to front on the tabs and in the wrong place. The nappy worked well until Lexi ha done a few wees, then it sagged past her bum LOL
